The late afternoon when the sun is low and golden and glowy. It makes you want to just grab someone and give them a big ol cuddle.

I always feel so rushed, life is passing me by at this frantic pass and I’m not achieving the things I so desperately want to achieve. I spend plenty of time lamenting what I don’t have or haven’t done. My mind is always in the future and occasionally in the past. I plan on getting from A to B but as soon as I’m at B instead of enjoying B I’m thinking about getting to C. It’s always what is next, never what is right now. I want to slow my life down and appreciate the things that I’m so blessed to have - the small simple everyday things along with the phenomenally awesome things.

Now I can’t promise I will post them each day but every few days I will share a collection of little snapshots - and at any rate they are really more for me than for anyone who reads my blog - the blog just happens to be a place to put them where they will be recorded and not lost. Most of the time I plan to write very little. Just a snippet to help me remember just what it was I was grateful for.

Parents often remind me of this saying when they meet me for family photos. They wonder how I could possibly like taking pictures of kids.

Getting a good picture of a kid is no easy feat - almost every parent will concur!

Yep - getting that picture perfect image isn’t easy but some of the shots you get along the way are just as adorable as the ‘perfect’ picture you have in your minds eye.

And you know what?

The less than perfect ones say so much more about the gorgeous personalities of each child and in years to come will be just as cherished as the ‘perfect picture’ (if not more…)

Oh and by the way - I have been know to cluck like a chicken to make myself more interesting than rocks, sand, grass and other natural materials that small children discover…there was no clucking on this particular day …but I’m just saying that working with children can require the use of such tactics…..

It’s so fun to spend the day with people who are thrilled to be getting married and are relishing every moment of their day.

This is how Tiff looked - this was the smile on her face all day!

Between Tiff and Robb they have four kids - all of whom was a major part of the days celebrations. I love how each of the girls are wearing dresses that are individual yet coordinate with everything else. It reminds me of the way Tiff and Robb treat their kids - each is individual and special. It’s a lovely thing to witness.



Yes - more smiling - there was an enormous amount of smiles and laughs with Tiff, her sisters and her mother. So fun!

There was a special part of the ceremony dedicated to the kids and celebrating the new relationships which they now all share. Very sweet.

Now even though this is a winter wedding no one was quite prepared for just how cold it would be at Maleny. It was freezing. The bridal party were all such great sports, they laughed through chattering teeth. I love this image because it shows the reality of the cold but there is still laughter!
This last shot of Tiff and Robb is a favorite of mine - after meeting them and getting to know a bit about them - this is who they are - I’m certain that all their friends and family will see what I see when I look at this image of the two of them together.

But it also might be this one.

Fionna and Matt choose to be married at the gorgeous Spicers Hidden Vale. Even though it’s not too far from where I live I managed to be totally bamboozled by the back roads…..needless to say I stuck to the main roads traveling home later in the night.

The little cottages were so cute and Fionna had her friends and mum to help her prepare.

Matt’s nieces were the flowergirls.


The ceremony took place underneath a massive fig tree high on the hill overlooking the valley and mountains in the distance.

Flower girls are known for collection rose petals after the ceremony - here they collected them and then gave the happy couple a nice little rose petal shower.

Sisters! Don’t you love them. As photographers we try to capture everyone at their most gorgeous - but upon catching the big sister inflicting a whole lot of ‘pretty’ on her little sister I couldn’t not grab a few shots of this moment.

No matter how many times I take a walking away shot - I still love it!
I’m not sure what it is about walking away photos that I so love. But love them I do.

Even though Fionna and Matt didn’t have a traditional bridal party they had a large group of friends there to support them on their big day - they came to play with us for the location photos! The fact that their clothes coordinate was pure luck!
